Frequently Asked Questions About Using 23.5°N Gel Masks for Healthy, Beautiful Skin

Q1: Should I wash my face after applying a thick layer of the gel mask?

The purpose of the gel mask is to create a protective barrier that helps seal the natural essences and ensure its benefits are absorbed into the skin to increase efficiency and shortening the time it takes to see visible results. However, because this thick layer can block pores, it is highly recommended that the gel mask is rinsed off after 20 minutes to avoid clogging and inflammation. Finish off with a basic skincare routine that involves moisturizing. (Relevant topic: At what step should the frozen film "thick compress" and "good night thin wipe" be used? How much should be used?)

Q2: Can I apply the gel mask during the day?

Yes, and we highly recommend it! The Rice, Red Pearl Barley, Oriental Beauty Tea, and Bamboo Gel Masks do not contain light-sensitive ingredients such as fruit acids or vitamin A, so there is no need to worry about increased sensitivity to UV radiation.

After cleansing the face, apply a quarter-sized amount onto the face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing. This will help rejuvenate and prepare your skin for a tough day ahead. Alternatively, you can also apply a pea-sized amount to moisturize and keep your skin soft and smooth, making it easier to apply makeup.

Note: The Pineapple Exfoliating Gel Mask contains traces of fruit acid, so it is not recommended for use during the day.

Q3: Are your plant-based products truly vegan friendly?

At 23.5°N Skincare, we are dedicated to nature in its purest state and to treasuring life in all forms. Therefore, our best-selling products are created using pure plant extracts and no animal-derived ingredients that directly harm animals. The beeswax we use is synthesized from plant-based ingredients. To cater to various needs, each series has specialized ingredients. Some products in our hydrating Bamboo series contain royal jelly obtained through organic beekeepers. Our detailed product descriptions include an extensive ingredients list which indicates whether the product contains ingredients of animal origin. We offer a variety of products to cater to various needs.

Q4: Can pregnant women safely use your products?

Our full range of products do not contain any added fragrances, alcohols, pigments, or parabens, so it is suitable for pregnant women or those with skin sensitivities. If you have any known allergies, we recommend checking the list of ingredients found in the product description.  If you are unsure whether you are allergic to certain ingredients, you can first apply a small amount to the skin on your neck or behind the ear to test and see if you experience any averse reactions prior to facial application.

Q5: Are the gel masks suitable for use after laser resurfacing or hair removal?

Yes, using our Gel Masks can provide much-needed moisture for your face after such laser treatments. The abundance of light energy exfoliates and loosens the skin’s integrity, causing significant moisture loss. Approximately 4 in 5 people will experience dry or peeling skin after laser treatments, so immediate, intensive moisturizing is essential. We highly recommend using our Bamboo Ultra Hydrating Gel Mask to strengthen and protect the skin’s moisture barrier for the first week after laser treatment.  Once your skin has repaired itself and adjusted to its new equilibrium, you may begin using our other functional products for brightening, oil control, etc. as needed.
